Ina-Garten

Ina Garten is an acclaimed American writer of cook books for many seasons. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa that began in 2002. Ina started her career for the White House as a writer of nuclear energy policy documents and also the budget. In the beginning, she found her work to be intellectually stimulating, but eventually lost interest and opened a food specialty store named Barefoot Contessa. She spent eighteen years making the store extremely successful before letting it go and picking up the pen to begin writing her first book. Other cookbooks followed, as were magazine articles. The Food Network television program also was launched and soon became a hit. Her range of items spans from kitchen equipment to ingredients and storage containers. Ina did not go to an institution for cooking or worked in a restaurant. Ina is a self-taught cook. She's known for her easygoing way of creating and entertaining.
